CARM Buffing Paper and Abrasive Belts for Leather Finishing

CARM was born to work with leather. Our abrasive paper, buffing paper and abrasive belts are developed for tanneries looking for stable cutting performance, even finishing and consistent results on leather.

CARM products are used in finishing departments for sanding, buffing, grain correction and surface preparation. They are suitable for wet blue, crust, dry leather, nubuck production and many other tannery applications where abrasive performance must remain controlled and repeatable.

We supply abrasive paper rolls, abrasive sleeves and abrasive belts for tannery machines. We pay particular attention to abrasive belts for Aletti and Bergi belt buffing machines, normally available from stock or with short delivery times.

Abrasive Paper for Tanneries

CARM abrasive paper is designed for leather finishing machines where the balance between cutting power and surface quality is essential. The abrasive distribution is selected to ensure an even buffing action, reduce clogging and improve working life.

Our range covers different leather processes, from more aggressive correction to softer finishing. Rolls and sleeves are available for the main sanding and buffing machines used in tanneries.

Abrasive Belts for Aletti and Bergi Machines

In addition to traditional abrasive paper, CARM supplies abrasive belts for leather finishing machines, including belts for Aletti and Bergi belt machines.

These belts are prepared for tannery use, with attention to joint quality, dimensional stability and abrasive performance. Many standard solutions are normally available at very short notice, because in production, machines do not like waiting.

Available CARM Types

LB – Light Brown
Universal aluminium oxide abrasive paper. It is the most versatile and widely used CARM type, suitable for both damp and dry leather.

FB – Fire Brown
Double-resin abrasive paper, developed for humid environments and wet hides. It offers excellent strength, stability and durability during demanding tannery operations.

RC – Resin Coated
Special stearate-treated abrasive paper, designed to achieve a softer feel, reduce heat generation and extend working life. It is particularly appreciated when the final feel of the leather is important.

AB – Abrasive Backed
Abrasive paper with a cotton cloth backing, used to improve the leather grain and make the fibre more uniform.

KP20 – Heavily Greased Leather
Semi-open coat aluminium oxide abrasive paper developed for heavily greased leather. The spaces between the abrasive grains help clear processing residues and reduce loading and clogging of the abrasive surface.
