More than 10 pallets of leather processed with a single CARM FB red abrasive belt. This was the result reported in the comparative trial carried out this week at a tannery on an Aletti 1800.
The requirement: an abrasive belt specifically for leather
The customer was looking for a single-joint belt suitable for leather and available in the grits used in production. Different abrasives were compared during the evaluation. The customer’s name and the brands of the products tested remain confidential.
The work done by a single belt
The trial highlighted the importance of assessing abrasive consumption alongside the quality of the resulting surface: backing, grit and joint all contribute to how a belt performs on the machine.
The result of more than 10 pallets with a single belt relates to the conditions of this particular application. Actual output per belt depends on the leather type, grit, machine settings and required finish.
